Each kilt is fully canvas lined and features three buckles to ensure an excellent fit. Crafted from 8, 9, or 10 yards of worsted wool—available in our full range of tartans—the kilt is designed to last a lifetime when properly cared for.
While the 8-yard kilt is standard, we recommend a 9-yard kilt for seat sizes 46"–52", and a 10-yard kilt for seat sizes 52"+. Kilt straps are set with an allowance of 0.5" tighter and 1.5" looser for added comfort and adjustability.
Kilts may be machine stitched and hand-finished, or fully hand-stitched depending on preference. Many appreciate the unique character of hand stitching over the clean lines of machine finishing.

FAQ
How To Measure
Waist Size
Seat Size
Overall Height
Kilt Length
Waist: Measure firmly around waist at navel (belly button) height.
Seat: Measure around the largest part of the seat area.
Height: Provide your height in feet and inches.
Kilt Length: Measure from over the very top of the hip at navel height (so the measure curves over the top of the hip bone) to the top or middle of the knee. As a rule of thumb, your kilt length should be no shorter than a third of your height. It's always best to get someone to help with this measurement, as you'll lean forward and shorten the length when doing it yourself.
Selecting Yard Size
Traditional 8 Yard
Traditional 9 Yard
Traditional 10 Yard
For gentlemen with larger seat sizes we usually recommend a 9-yard kilt (idea for seat sizes 46"-52") or a 10-yard kilt (ideal for seat sizes 52"+). Kilt straps on this kilt are set with an allowance of 0.5" tighter and 1.5" looser.
Stitch Finishing Options
Handmade
Machine Stitched & Hand Finished
Tailored using the most customary techniques. Many folk like their kilts to be wholly traditional from start to finish, especially as a kilt is one of the few pieces of clothing you will own that should last a lifetime – and is often passed down the generations. Some consider hand stitching to have much more character than the modern straight line you get with the machine-finished kilts.
